Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the role of Buyer is integral to the continued success of our business. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review forecasts and make purchasing decisions for inventory replenishment
  • Create Purchase Orders and continuous follow-up to ensure timely deliveries from overseas partners
  • Perform some price negotiations and positively contribute to vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with Quality Control department to perform accurate and timely verification of pre-production and production samples
  • Create new items in ERP and maintain integrity of product descriptions, pricing and SKU nomenclature
  • Adjust and update regularly Purchase Order ETAs in ERP and communicate changes to Sales Team, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Supply Chain
  • Support R&D initiatives by acting as a liaison with manufacturing partners identified as product category captains
  • Respond to Sales and Customer Service teams’ questions pertaining to inventory status, lead times or product information


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years in a purchasing or inventory management role
  • Bilingual written and verbal: English and French (Any of Mandarin, Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi would be an asset)
  • Experience with Netsuite by Oracle would be an asset
  • Ability to creatively problem solve
  • Strong Communicator who can effectively and efficiently get a message across both verbally and written
  • High level of organization
  • Understanding of Demand Planning and Supply Planning
